Accounting & Tax Filing in Ireland
Every company in Ireland is required to keep proper books of account and file regular tax and compliance documents — even if the company is not actively trading. At Incwell, we help you stay fully compliant from day one, through our network of trusted Irish accounting partners.
Ongoing Compliance for Irish LTD Companies
- Annual Return (Form B1): Filed with the Companies Registration Office (CRO), this includes basic company details and must be submitted every year.
- Annual Financial Statements: Irish companies must prepare and submit annual accounts. These must be signed and, in some cases, audited.
- Corporation Tax Return (Form CT1): Filed with the Irish Revenue. The standard corporate tax rate is 12.5% on trading income.
- VAT Returns: If your company is VAT-registered, periodic VAT filings (generally bi-monthly) are required.
- Payroll Filings: Real-time payroll reporting (PAYE Modernisation) is required if your company has employees or directors receiving salary.
- Register of Beneficial Owners (RBO): Must be filed shortly after incorporation and updated if ownership changes.
Do I Need an Accountant in Ireland?
Yes — Irish companies are expected to maintain local accounting records and comply with local formats. While you are not required to have an in-house accountant, you will need a professional to file your returns and prepare your statements in accordance with Irish law.
We connect our clients with licensed Irish accountants who understand cross-border structures and will manage your filings and deadlines professionally.
Accounting Without Activity
Even if your company has no income or expense, you still need to file an annual return and declare that your company is dormant. Failure to do so may lead to penalties or involuntary strike-off from the CRO.
Our Role
We manage your incorporation and initial filings, and we remain available to liaise with your accountant, clarify obligations, and ensure that you receive reminders and updates through your client dashboard. If you need a registered office, VAT number, or payroll setup — we handle that too.
